Remember

Three things to know.

Boring beats exciting

Steady saving and low-cost investing beat hot tips and get-rich-quick plans for most people.

Time beats timing

Nobody reliably predicts the market. Time in the market matters more than picking the moment.

Questions

Good questions.

Do I need a lot of money to invest?
No. Many brokers let you start with very small amounts, and some offer fractional shares.
Is renting throwing money away?
No. Rent buys a home to live in. Buying has costs too: interest, repairs, taxes and fees. Both can be right.
Is debt always bad?
No. Expensive debt like credit cards hurts. A low-rate loan for something that lasts can be fine. The rate is what matters.
Should I wait for a crash to invest?
Waiting usually costs more than it saves. Most people do better investing a fixed amount every month.
